Salary: £32 000
Hours: Flexible hours to suits needs of service over 37.5 hours per week

Why this role would be great for you- what you will do
As a Team Leader for You Matter Based in The SHAP service your role will be to provide an additional level of operational leadership in the service that supports young people aged 18-25 years old. You will be able to ensure that staff are supported to grow and develop within their role. To support the Service Manager to carry out their duties in delivering a service of excellence. The aim of your role will be to ensure that all teams members feel connected to the aims of the service and that the Critical Tiem intervention model is imbedded into day-to-day operations
What your week may look like- What you will be doing
- Manage a team of support staff across 3 shift patterns undertaking regular supervisions, identifying training needs and opportunities and providing feedback
- Provide professional support and advice to the SHAP staff
- Coach the team to deliver a person-centred service using psychologically informed techniques
- Put into practice the values and the strategic aims of You matter and of the service and coach and develop the team to implement change and to do the same
- Deliver effective communication across the whole staff team ensuring that a effective handover process between all remote shift patterns is thorough and takes on board any emergency arrangements.
- Maintain excellent communication with You Matter Together Management team
- Attend, or in the absence of service manager, hold fortnightly team meeting
- Lead and manage any volunteers that work in the SHAP service
- Complete internal and external audits as required.
- To be able to identify training gaps within the support team and support the manager in addressing any unmet needs.
- May include a flexible working pattern to fulfil the needs of service delivery.

The skills we are looking for
• EXPERIENCE– Ideally you will have a background of working within a charity, community
project and/or previous involvement in the homelessness sector. Ideally you will have experience of working alongside young people who are 18-25years old. You will have knowledge
around supporting people with challenging and complex behaviours including substance
misuse / mental ill health and offending behaviours within a 24 hour support service
• KNOWLEDGE – A basic understanding of relevant and appropriate legislation, including
welfare benefits and housing law. An understanding of health and safety requirements
in the workplace
• COMMUNICATION – Excellent communication, fostering a respectful, collaborative and
professional approach to the people who you work alongside ensuring confidentiality at all
times
• EMPATHY and RESPECT – The ability to empower people to make positive changes, showing
empathy whilst maintaining professional boundaries
• COMMITMENT – The ability to work in an innovative and solutions focused way, including
reflecting and learning as you go, and a willingness to flex and adapt approaches as needed
• ORGANISATION – Strong time management and the ability to manage to prioritise tasks
• COMPUTER LITERACY – You will be IT literate and have experience of working with multiple
software programs such as Microsoft Office and Outlook.
What is a nice to have
• NVQ/L2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent
• Experience of working within a psychologically informed working environment
• Knowledge of housing management and IT databases
• Awareness of benefits and how they work including Universal Credit and other welfare
systems
What is a nice to have
• Qualification or working experience in homelessness, working alongside refugees and those owed a homeless duty by the local authority.
• Recognized management or training related qualification
• Experience of working within a psychologically informed working environment
• Knowledge of housing management and IT databases
• Awareness of benefits and how they work, including Universal Credit and other welfare systems
