Centrepoint, the UK’s leading charity dedicated to ending youth homelessness, is seeking a detail-oriented Governance Administrator to support our Board of Trustees and ensure excellence in governance standards. Reporting to the Head of Governance & CEO Office, this role is essential in enabling the Board to fulfill its responsibilities, maintain compliance, and provide strategic guidance.
About the Role
As a key member of the Governance and CEO Office team, the Governance Administrator will play a central role in supporting Centrepoint’s strategic mission. Responsibilities include:
- Administrative Support to the Board of Trustees: Provide confidential and efficient support to the Board and its committees, ensuring that meetings are well-organized, documented, and aligned with governance standards.
- High-Quality Governance Function: Work closely with the Head of Governance to design, implement, and administer a governance function that supports the Board’s strategic oversight and strengthens organisational transparency.
- Meeting Coordination: Arrange logistics and manage agendas for the annual cycle of fourteen governance meetings, including Board meetings, committees, and strategic discussions. Record minutes and ensure the Board receives the information needed for data-driven decision-making.
- General Governance Support: Assist with trustee recruitment, maintain Board records, update governance policies, and provide administrative support for trustee development and onboarding.
- Confidentiality and Data Protection: Uphold strict confidentiality and comply with GDPR and cyber security requirements to protect sensitive trustee information and maintain trust.

Success measures for the Governance Administrator include ensuring the governance function empowers the Board to meet its responsibilities, maintaining accurate records and well-organized documentation, and providing effective administrative support that upholds confidentiality and promotes smooth strategic operations.
Key Skills and Experience
We’re looking for a skilled professional with:
- Governance and Administrative Experience: Proven experience supporting governance within an organization, maintaining systems and records, and managing administrative processes.
- Exceptional Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on attention to detail and professionalism.
- High Computer Literacy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Pro, and ability to work independently, using initiative to manage workload effectively.
- Confidentiality and Discretion: A high level of integrity, especially in handling sensitive information, with a commitment to confidentiality and adherence to data protection standards.
