Centrepoint, the UK’s leading youth homelessness charity, is looking for an experienced Case for
Support Lead to join our Fundraising Strategy and Operations team based in London. This role will
deliver compelling and impactful content about our services. This will be used by fundraisers to help inspire fundraising audiences and deliver ambitious fundraising targets.
About Centrepoint:
We help vulnerable young people by giving them the practical and emotional support they need to find a job and live independently. We provide homeless young people with accommodation, health support and life skills in order to get them back into education, training and employment. Together with our partners, we support over 16,000 young people each year. Our long-term vision is to end youth homelessness by 2037.
About the team:
The Fundraising Strategy & Operations Team deliver the Fundraising strategy (and associated strategies) and provide high quality operations to support the Fundraising Directorate. The team has a variety of different functions including Supporter Care, Strategic Liaison with Service teams, Compliance, Supporter Journeys and Communications as well as general administration. The team deliver small and large scale process and systems projects to ensure fundraisers can focus on excellent relationships with donors and supporters.
About you:
- A creative thinker with an independent and autonomous approach to your work.
- Excellent copywriting skills and experience.
- Experience of understanding and interpreting complex information and data and articulate it in a compelling way, both in writing and verbally.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, particularly listening skills, tact, diplomacy and assertiveness.
- Positive attitude, ability to think creatively and identify new opportunities.
- Respectful and empathetic, always considering the impact on our young people.
- You will have excellent people skills and a track record that shows your ability to integrate quickly into complex organisations.
What you will be doing:
This is an exciting new role within a growing Fundraising Strategy and Operations Team, which will lead on the development of compelling cases for support (and other similar content) for use by the wider Fundraising Directorate.
You will work cross-organisationally to identify, understand and articulate the charity’s core activities, strategic funding priorities and appeal/campaign themes.
You will also ensure all fundraising teams have access to materials, content and resources which enable them to build fundraising asks that are accurate, impactful and inspiring.
With our fundraised income having more than doubled over the past five years (approximately £40m in 2023/24), the chosen candidate will be joining Centrepoint and our Fundraising Directorate at a hugely exciting time. The Case for Support Lead will play a crucial role in enabling us to continue this upward trajectory, support the Fundraising Directorates ambitious Growth Strategy, and ultimately, work towards ending youth homelessness by 2037.
