Homeless Prevention – Housing Support Officers x 2
£28,593.00 per annum
37 hours per week, based in preston at our dock-side offices
What will you be doing in this role?
Providing support and housing management services to people in their own homes; you will assist our tenants to develop their skills and to overcome barriers to living independently; using a range of coaching, training and support methods.
What will you be doing in this role?
You will be providing support using a person-centred approach that promotes independence, responsibility, healthy lifestyles, and personal wellbeing and you will build relationships with them by spending quality time helping them to develop community connections.
What are we looking for in you?
- You will have lived experience or have worked with vulnerable adults or people who have experienced homelessness.
- You will have the opportunity to support tenants who may have faced multiple challenges, with empathy and without judgement.
- You will play a key role in empowering our tenants to recognise and pursue their personal goals and aspirations.
- You will be confident working in high-pressure situations and handling conflict effectively when it arises.
- You will will bring compassion and strong listening skills to your role.
- You will be driven and you will thrive in a team environment.
- You will be open to learning and developing new skills.
It would nice if you also had:
- Experience of providing intensive housing management or housing related support.
- Understanding or experience of drug and alcohol services, social services or those for people experiencing mental ill health.
- Experience of completing risk assessments and support plans

Working Arrangements:
This role involves working in the community, but you will be based at Harbour House.
37 hrs per week; Monday to Friday.
You must hold a current driving licence and have use of a vehicle insured for business purposes.
