Strengths Based Support Coach

We have an exciting opportunity for a Strengths Based Support Coach in our Homeless Provision based at our Leyland Road service, Southport. The role is shift based, working 8am till 8pm with a 3 on 3 off rota, 40.25 hours per week.
New Start is a family-run, not-for-profit organisation, we deliver a diverse range of homelessness projects and temporary housing solutions across Merseyside. We aim to enhance lives by offering good quality accommodation with structured support.
The Role
You will be part of a team that delivers a strengths-based service, allowing each person who accesses the project to thrive and develop, gain greater independence, and succeed to a more permanent housing solution.
As a Support Coach, you will develop a Person-Centred Support Plan focussing on the strengths of the individual, boosting their confidence as they rebuild their lives.
You will link in with partnership agencies to overcome barriers to a more permanent housing solution, creating a structured resettlement plan that they will work towards.
You’ll need to keep records of everything, experience of support planning, incident management and case records is essential.

- You will understand the challenges vulnerable adults may face, around homelessness, mental health, substance abuse and offending – this could include having your own lived experience.
- You will have experience of delivering structured support and risk management planning.
- You will be confident and able to lone work at times, or when needed by the project.
Ideally, you will have:
- You will have studied up to NVQ Level 3 in Housing/Health and Social Care, or be working towards this qualification or be prepared to undertake if successful in the role
- You will have access to a vehicle with appropriate insurance to support our residents with visits such as property viewings.
