Despite the challenges that Adult Social Care has faced within the last 12 months, our approach in Buckinghamshire has not been to take shelter and wait for the storm to pass. Instead, we have chosen to transform and restructure Adult Social Care so we can respond to a crisis as well as build for the future.
Here's what Stephanie had to say 'Every single day that I go to work I make a positive difference in someone’s life. My work has true meaning, and even if I've had a challenging day, I know that I've made a positive contribution’
Buckinghamshire Council is a relatively new organisation that combines the strengths and expertise of the previous five councils in the county to create positive change for local people, communities, and businesses. We are firmly focused on the future and have made a clear commitment to serve residents better and to provide stronger representation for Buckinghamshire, both locally and nationally.
We are looking for a highly skilled team leader to take on the co-ordination of the Short Breaks Service that provides person centred care to Adults with Learning Disabilities, Autism and Challenging Behaviours. We want you to co-ordinate the work of a team of staff to enable the delivery of a range of care focussed activities.
In addition, you will take a lead role in the day-to-day effective, safe running of the service and whilst ensuring that a safe stimulating person-centred service is delivered to all.
Fixed
As a ‘fixed’ worker, you’ll spend most of your time in the same location, which will likely be a fixed office or location where your role is performed. Typically, you’ll be based in the same location as the rest of your team, because you provide a particular service from that fixed location or need access to information there.
The type of people we’re looking for…
Naturally, you will be a great people person, caring and empathetic and will have the ability to work with challenging client groups sometimes with specialist needs. The ideal candidate will extensive experience of working with the client group and possess a real passion for delivering quality care but more importantly you must be motivated to improve the lives of adults with a commitment to delivering a high quality, person-centred service in line with CQC.
You will be creative, flexible, and supportive of individuals with a desire to help modernise social care services in partnership with the people who use them. You are committed to providing a positive and enriching experience for people using the short-break service, creating the vision for this and leading the staff team to deliver.
If you'd like to hear from our current social care team, visit our Bucks Careers pages Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and Instagram.
Please see job summary attached for full person specification.
Please note you will need to travel to and access offices and provisions across the county. You must also have the ability to work weekends and shifts, including nights where necessary.
