Job Summary
Wycombe Homeless Connection (WHC) is a Christian-led charity based in south Buckinghamshire that works to end homelessness in our community.
We make a difference in the lives of local people, stopping homelessness before it starts through our innovative homelessness prevention programmes and reducing the harm homelessness can do with our frontline support and health projects.
Our vision is that south Buckinghamshire is transformed into a place where no one loses their home and that there is suitable housing and housing security for all.
WHC’s winter night shelter will be open in January, February and March 2025. People who are living on the street in south Buckinghamshire, and who have no other options, will be offered shelter. We’ll provide beds, food and a safe place to stay during the bleakest months. Our team will also work with our guests to help them find a home for good and do everything we can to avoid anyone having to return to life on the street.
Two night shelter coordinators will work together between mid-November 2024 and the end of April 2025 with a team of staff and volunteers to make it happen.
The working pattern for this role meet the needs of the night shelter project which is open seven nights a week during January, February and March 2025 and is hosted at a rotating set of seven locations.
There are three distinct phases: preparation, delivery and review.
Important notes
- Driving a long-wheel base hire van is essential to this role so you will need a full UK driving licence, be over 25 and have had your licence for at least 12 months.

- Our leave package starts at 25 days per year plus bank holidays. In this role leave cannot be taken during the delivery phase.
