Software Engineering Manager

We are working with one of the UK's largest Housing Associations to recruit for three brand new Software Engineering Manager roles. These roles will lead the way in creating new digital services for customers. These are hands-on roles and will be spending 70% of the time writing code. The remainder will be focused on mentoring junior team members and leading agile ceremonies.

Salary: £60,000 - £90,000 per annum (dependent on experience and location)

Duration: Permanent
Location: Remote/hybrid - offices across the country, minimum expectation to meet on-site for 2 annual team days
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Leading the team in designing and delivering technical solutions and providing hands-on technical leadership when needed
- Ensuring technology is developed with a focus on quality, meeting client or product requirements
- Leading the development of secure, scalable front and backend solutions
- Maintaining best practices to ensure clean, maintainable code
- Collaborating with team members to design and implement features and services
- Overseeing fast-paced development cycles, ensuring high code quality and continuous improvement
- Taking responsibility for turning high-level designs into technical solutions
The successful candidate will have:
- Demonstrable experience in software development and engineering
- Experience leading teams or mentoring junior team members
- Frontend experience of JavaScript and TypeScript, preferably React
- Backend experience of C# and .Net
- Exposure to cloud technologies would be beneficial (Azure preferred)
- Strong stakeholder management, including ability to influence a wide range of stakeholders
