Interim Head of Homelessness
Location: Letchworth, Hertfordshire
£400-£450 per day
Hours/Days – flexible
Contract: 4-5 months
ENB are supporting a Hertfordshire based charity who are recruiting for an interim Head of Homelessness to support, develop and deliver their service offerings.
This is both a strategic and hands on leadership role which will drive service innovation, and strengthen partnerships across the sector, while ensuring high standards of care, safeguarding and compliance.
This contract will run between 4-5 months and really needs somebody who understands the ins and outs of housing / homelessness and can support the charity with reviewing, writing and updating policies and procedures to ensure they remain fully compliant.
This role would suit somebody who has worked in a housing management role, possible in a local authority, housing provider or within a charity that offers similar homeless services.
Key contributions within this role will include:
- Leading the operational delivery and ensuring excellence across rough sleeping outreach, accommodation and support services.
- Drive innovation, growth and continuous improvement, shaping the future direction of the service.
- Maintain robust systems for safeguarding, risk management and care planning across outreach and accommodation services.
- Ensure services meet contractual obligations, funder requirements and best practice standards.
- Strengthen referral pathways into housing, health, substance misuse support, education, training and employment.
- Provide regular supervision, case reviews and professional development to other staff members
- Contribute to the Senior Management Team, shaping strategy and driving organisational growth.
- Develop policies, systems and processes that strengthen the charities long-term sustainability.
Person Specification
- Proven experience in the homelessness or housing sector.
- Experience with writing and implementing strategy, policies and procedures.
- Experience of rough sleeper outreach and/or supported or temporary accommodation.
- Understanding of housing laws, welfare benefits, criminal justice and community care systems.
