Location: Hampshire
Salary: £26,000 – £28,000 per annum
Hours: 37 hours per week (Mon–Fri, occasional weekends)
Contract: Fixed- term contract until Dec 26. ( possibility to be made permanent.)
About the Role
We are recruiting for an Outreach Support Workerto support women on probation across Hampshire. You will provide one-to-one, trauma-informed support to women living in the community and those being released from prison under Post-Sentence Supervision.
You will manage a caseload of women with complex needs, with a strong focus on housing, resettlement and access to local support services. The role includes prison in-reach and “Through the Gate” support, advocacy with partner agencies, and close working with probation and housing providers.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one advocacy, advice and emotional support
- Assess need and risk and create personalised support plans
- Support women to secure and sustain safe accommodation
- Deliver prison in-reach and pre-release support
- Monitor risk, engagement and progress, escalating concerns appropriately
- Work in partnership with probation, housing and other agencies
- Maintain accurate and timely case records
Essential Requirements:
- Significant experience supporting women with complex needs (e.g. homelessness, mental health, substance use, domestic abuse)
- Experience of casework, advocacy and risk management
- Knowledge of women in the criminal justice system and housing legislation
- Strong communication, IT and organisational skills
- Confident working independently and managing a varied caseload
- DBS on Update Service
- Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle
- Prison vetting
