Deputy Manager – Residential Children’s Home
Location: Brown Edge, Stoke-on-Trent
Hours: 37.5 per week, Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm (flexibility required for evenings/weekends)
Salary: £40,753.65 per annum

If so, you could be perfect for our Deputy Manager post. As a Deputy Manager, you will have a hands-on approach in shaping the home and team to provide outstanding care.
You will encourage strong bonds between children and staff based on jointly undertaken activities, shared daily life, domestic and non-domestic routines, and established boundaries. By role modelling our culture and ethos, you will use this approach to lead, manage and motivate your team and drive them to deliver a quality service for the children we care for and support.
You will also support the Registered Manager in ensuring the home meets and exceeds Ofsted regulations and Quality Standards, deputising when required, and contributing to the preparation and outcomes of inspections.

About you
With prior experience working in Children’s Residential care and working within UK regulations, you will share our passion for creating a supportive environment and understand that it can be very difficult for trauma-surviving children, knowing that they may need extensive support to work through experiences and needs. You will have also strong leadership skills and experience in managerial administration and can navigate yourself around IT systems.
Essential requirements:
- Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare (England).
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Care (or willingness to complete within 3 years).
- Leadership experience in a residential childcare setting.
- Strong understanding of therapeutic models of care and evidence-based approaches.
- Experience in staff planning and service management.
- IT literacy and strong administrative skills.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle insured for business use.
