Centrepoint, the UK’s leading youth homelessness charity, is looking for a Special Events Manager to join our Mass Participation and Events Team based in London.
About us
We help vulnerable young people by giving them the practical and emotional support they need to find a job and live independently. Centrepoint provides homeless young people with accommodation, health support and life skills in order to get them back into education, training and employment. We want to end youth homelessness by 2037.
Together with our partners, we support over 16,000 young people each year.
The Special Events Manager is a key member of the Fundraising team, with responsibility for the delivery of a range of high value events that attract and engage supporters to help raise funds for Centrepoint. The post holder will also play a vital role in delivering our stewardship and cultivation events, recognising our most loyal and committed supporters.
The post holder will have experience in managing high-value fundraising events and will possess excellent relationship building skills. Creativity and initiative are essential to the success of this role. The post holder will have also be responsible for line-managing the Special Events Officer, who supports the delivery of our Special Events.
It is an exciting time to join the team, with ambitious fundraising and recruitment targets for 25/26 and plans to develop a strategy to achieve income growth.
About you
- Excellent event management skills, with experience of developing and delivering successful high-value fundraising events
- Strong relationship building skills, with the ability to communicate confidently with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Able decision maker with a can-do attitude.
- Creative and innovative, with an appetite to grow income
What you’ll be doing
- Supporting the Senior Special Events Manager with the development of the events portfolio
- Managing and successfully delivering Centrepoint’s special events
- Researching opportunities to grow the programme, to increase income and participation
- Line-management of the Special Events Officer
- Working collaboratively with the Mass Participation and Events team to collectively reach the team target.
