Operations Manager - Retirement Living

Are you a passionate leader with experience in housing management and a commitment to improving the lives of older people? If so, this housing association wants you to join them as an Operations Manager - Retirement Living and lead the delivery of a high-quality housing management services that meets the needs and aspirations of this organisation's Retirement Living customers. You will oversee the proactive management of buildings and estates while adopting a landlord-first ethos to address wider housing management issues.
Responsibilities include, but aren't limited to:
- Leading a team of Regional Managers and a Specialist Accommodation Manager to deliver excellent housing management services that are responsive to the needs of customers.
- Ensuring that tenant voice influence the services that this organiastion delivers and how they deliver them, with a focus on driving positive tenant satisfaction.
- Ensuring effective housing management policies and procedures that support tenants facing tenancy-related challenges.
- Overseeing high-quality estate and communal services and building strong relationships with contractors to ensure that buildings remain safe.
- Managing budgets, service charges, and financial performance for your schemes.
- Developing strategies to create balanced, sustainable communities.
- Identifying and mitigating business risks while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Handling complex tenancy issues, customer complaints, and MP/Councillor enquiries.
What are they looking for? To be successful in this role, you'll have:
- Level 4 Housing Management qualification (or willingness to work towards one).
- Significant experience in leading services for older people or housing management.
- Strong financial acumen, including budget management and procurement.
- Knowledge of housing law, safeguarding, and service delivery best practices.
- Exceptional leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
Colleagues at this organisation deliver services from the location that they are best delivered on any given day. This means that you should expect to work from an office site as a minimum 3 days week (on average).
