Tenancy Sustainment Officer

About You

You’ll provide tailored, strengths‑based support to residents, helping them build the skills, confidence, and stability they need to maintain their tenancy. Working collaboratively with internal teams and external partners, you’ll develop support plans, coordinate interventions, and advocate for residents to achieve positive outcomes.

✨Key responsibilities

  • Supporting residents to sustain their tenancy and manage their home independently
  • Developing and maintaining individual support plans based on resident needs
  • Working closely with external agencies including local authorities, DWP, HMRC, and voluntary organisations
  • Assisting residents with benefits applications and supporting income maximisation
  • Maintaining accurate, timely records and case notes using IT systems
  • Managing a caseload and monitoring the impact and effectiveness of support provided
  • Ensuring safeguarding, GDPR, and professional boundaries are maintained at all times
  • Gathering and acting on resident feedback to improve services
  • Promoting tenancy sustainment support and community engagement initiatives

✨About you

You’ll have experience of working with vulnerable residents and a good understanding of the challenges people face in maintaining stable housing. You’ll be confident managing a caseload, building relationships, and working across services to achieve the best outcomes.

You’ll bring:

  • Experience supporting vulnerable adults or young people
  • Knowledge of social housing, welfare benefits, and safeguarding
  • Strong communication skills and a calm, empathetic approach
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and work independently
  • Good IT skills and attention to detail

  • A clear DBS check
  • A valid UK driving licence and ability to travel independently
