About the Role:

We’re looking for a New Business Manager to join us on a 12-month fixed-term basis, supporting the Head of Growth to create and deliver a strong development pipeline in line with Plus Dane’s business plan and growth strategy. This is a key role within our Growth team, leading pre-contract development activity and helping bring forward viable, well-designed new homes that respond to local need and support our wider social purpose.

What you’ll be doing

• Lead the pre-contract stages of new business activity, including acquisitions, design and planning, procurement, contractor negotiations and funding routes.
• Prepare robust business cases and financial appraisals to support decision making and internal approvals.
• Work with architects, consultants and project teams to progress schemes through planning and ensure opportunities are well designed and fit for purpose.
• Manage projects through Plus Dane’s governance, funding and approval processes, maintaining a strong focus on risk, quality and value for money.
• Build effective relationships with internal colleagues and external partners, including local authorities, Homes England, landowners, contractors and professional teams.
• Ensure new opportunities are commercially viable, customer-focused and aligned to Plus Dane’s growth ambitions and wider social purpose.

What You’ll Bring

• A strong technical background in development, construction, regeneration, planning or a related field.
• Experience of identifying growth opportunities and developing strong partnership relationships.
• Experience of preparing or assessing development appraisals, managing budgets and cashflows, and progressing planning applications.
• Strong commercial judgement, with the ability to understand risk and identify appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills, with confidence working across a wide range of stakeholders.
• Ideally, experience within the social housing sector, or a strong understanding of the issues affecting registered providers and the communities they serve.

What you’ll get in return:

This is a 12-month fixed-term role working full time, based across Merseyside and Cheshire.

You’ll be generously rewarded with a competitive salary and a great benefits package, including 35 days’ annual leave, plus bank holidays. This includes a 3-day Christmas closedown between Christmas and New Year and you have the option to buy up to 5 extra days annually.
