Job Description: Senior Mentoring and Coaching Support Worker 
Organisation: Park Lodge Project 
Salary: £ 29,500 
Reports To: Care and Support Manager 
Position Type: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, worked across five days on a rota basis 
Location: Hinckley Road Hub 
 
Job Purpose 
The Senior Mentoring and Coaching Support Worker will play a key role in ensuring the safe, effective and high-quality delivery of supported accommodation services for young people at Hinckley Road Hub. 
 
Working alongside the Care and Support Manager, the post holder will provide day-to-day operational leadership and guidance to the Mentoring and Coaching Team, and will take responsibility for service oversight during periods of absence of the Care and Support Manager. 
 
The post holder will contribute to service performance, including full occupancy and room readiness and other key performance indicators, by supporting referrals, interviews and assessments to determine the suitability of young people for a place at Hinckley Road Hub. They will help ensure that the Mentoring and Coaching Team provides a clear, safe and welcoming environment, supports the delivery of Looked After Children provisions, and manages a small specialised caseload. 
 
Key Responsibilities 
 
1. Management Cover and Service Continuity 
 
Leadership cover: Act as the designated service lead during periods of absence within Commissioned Services, ensuring safe and seamless operational continuity. 
Rota management: Support the Care and Support Manager to manage and cover the staff rota, maintaining safe staffing levels, compliance and consistent support for residents. 
On-call duties: Participate in the organisation’s on-call rota as required. 
Operational oversight: Support the smooth day-to-day running of Hinckley Road Hub, ensuring organisational policies, health and safety standards and regulatory requirements are followed. 
 
2. Looked After Children Functions and Caseload Management 
 
LAC service delivery: Work with the Care and Support Manager to oversee functions relating to Looked After Children placed within the project, ensuring care plans, statutory reviews and support measures align with local authority frameworks. 
Safeguarding: Promote a culture in which safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility, responding appropriately to safeguarding concerns, incidents and allegations in line with organisational procedures. 
Caseload management: Hold and directly manage a small, high-impact caseload of young people, providing targeted advocacy, mentoring and coaching support, risk assessments and independent living pathway planning. 
Stakeholder liaison: Act as a key point of contact for social workers, local authorities and multi-agency partners in relation to LAC provisions. 
 
3. Specialist Assessment and Interviewing 
 
Admissions and assessments: Use specialist skills and knowledge to complete comprehensive, trauma-informed interviews and assessments with young people seeking entry to the project, or where complex risk reviews are required. 
Reporting and data: Provide accurate information and data to support reports, service monitoring and decision-making. 
Skill sharing: Promote high standards of youth interviewing practice across the team, ensuring the voice of the young person is effectively captured in assessment and support planning. 
 
4. Staff Support and Compliance 
 
Team guidance: Provide direction and practical support to the team, particularly when managing rota changes, responding to incidents or supporting staff to manage challenging behaviour on shift. 
Quality assurance: Support the maintenance of accurate organisational records, resident files and compliance data, ensuring information is audit-ready for internal and external review.
