St. George’s Crypt is Christian Charity in the city of Leeds providing shelter and support and working with the homeless, the vulnerable and those living with addiction. Our aim is to provide a safe environment with physical, emotional and religious support for those who suffered abuse, suffer from addiction or who are homeless.

Safeguarding Responsibilities:

Job Purpose:
To be responsible for the 24/7 delivery of the commissioned service at Kingston Hotel by leading a team of paid workers, bank staff, security, and other agency staff to provide a safe, non-judgmental, and caring environment for single homeless people that are accessing the accommodation.
To be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of services strategically relevant to the city in line with the ethos and trust deeds of the charity both within the voluntary and statutory sectors under the guidance of the Head and Deputy Head of Client Services.
To work in partnership with partner agencies to ensure the needs, safety and interests of service user are met in a professional and caring manner.
Key Job Role Responsibilities and Main Tasks:
Ø Ensure you are regularly on site and part of the delivery of daily support.
Ø Support, develop, and supervise, staff, bank staff, security teams and partnership workers in their day-to-day work.
Ø Document outcomes as appropriate using relevant process and procedures.
Ø Devise rotas for staff and bank staff and ensure that they adhered to. Ensure a smooth transition between shifts.
Ø Arrange cover for staff absences including annual leave and sickness and take on extra responsibilities if needed.
Ø Always promote professionalism amongst team and work in a professional manner.
Ø Implement, monitor, and provide any support for staff who are using the commissioned monitoring platform. Ensure the required standard of service delivery is always provided.
Ø To be able to quickly address, record and respond to observed areas for development within the staff team through supervisions / appraisals and any other means.
Ø Develop and support partnership working in their day-to-day work.
Ø Oversee and monitor accurate and appropriate support plans and / or safety plans and / or care packages in accordance with completed needs and risk assessments.
Ø To identify and overcome any barriers to assist and prepare residents for move on into their own accommodation.
Ø Develop and maintain with other staff members a sustainable and achievable programme for clients.
Ø Ensure all charity’s policies, guidelines and relevant legislation is implemented, adhered to, and displayed if relevant.
Ø Develop, monitor, and address any issues identified in day-to-day paperwork.
Ø Assist with developing strategies in accordance with the principles set out in the QMF. (Quality Management Framework)
Ø Attend and actively participate in relevant meetings with line managers & SMT.
Ø Provide appropriate reports when required to SMT.
Ø Communicate and document effectively to team via TEAMS/ email / staff meetings.
Ø The role is not part of the Rota, but you will be expected to cover shifts if required. These include overnights, weekends, and bank holidays.
Ø Be part of a 24 hour Call Out System for emergencies on site and with other team leaders.
Ø Be part of the interview panel for prospective contracted or bank employees.
Ø Assist with other team leader annual leave cover of other sites.
Ø To develop the service to cope with the ever-changing presentation of those who require our support.
Ø Working with the hotel management to ensure that all relevant legislation and guidelines are implemented, adhered to, and displayed if relevant.
Ø To be an energetic leader bringing ideas as to how to improve the efficiency of the supported accommodation and the support offered to the residents.
Ø Ability to create a pleasant working environment that inspires the team.
Ø To ensure the recording and monitoring of financial transactions in accordance with the charity’s finance policy ensuring the keeping of the charity and clients’ money and property as required.
Ø Responsible for the completion of clear and concise paperwork appropriate and relevant to the services offered.
Ø Demonstrate a working knowledge of the housing benefit framework and monitor to ensure the maximum housing benefit amount is being claimed.
Ø Ensure that resources of money and food are being used wisely.
Ø Check for maintenance work and report where necessary within the building(s) including the resident’s bedrooms and keep to the standards expected.
Ø Liase with, create and nurture links with other agencies to maintain a register of appropriate services and accommodations needed to deliver an efficient service.
Ø Respond appropriately to client’s immediate accommodation, social, material, and spiritual needs.
Ø Attend, delegate, and proactively work within team meetings ensuring the needs of clients & staff are met.
Ø Be an effective member of the duty team and ensuring where appropriate staff are kept informed of all developments within the charity.
Ø Encourage and motivate staff to enable service users to participate more fully in the community and lead more positive lifestyles.
Ø Ensure staff teams are adequately trained in all aspects of service delivery.
Ø Attend regular training courses and conferences to maintain personal development as approved by CEO and agreed by line manager.
Ø Utilise the ‘Develop Me’ website and attend all mandatory courses.
Ø Attend regular supervisions / 1:2:1 sessions with line manager.
The tasks and responsibilities listed above are not exhaustive and maybe amended according to the needs of the charity. The team leader is expected to work flexibly in responding to external and internal initiatives to support the needs of the charity and service users.

· Experience in working with and assisting disadvantaged people, including people with a rootless lifestyle, refugees, asylum seekers, and victims of abuse and addiction is an advantage.
· Experience in working in the third sector is an advantage.
· Experience in working for a care provider is an advantage.
· Experience within the supported accommodation sector is an advantage.
· Experience of working in a residential environment is an advantage.
· An understanding of commissioning contracts is an advantage.
· Experience of working within a ‘Trauma Informed approach’.
· A knowledge of Microsoft & SharePoint applications.
