Homes for Support is looking for warm, resilient and reliable people to support children and young people aged 5-18 in our residential children’s homes.
No children’s-home experience? That’s okay. If you have the right values, a calm approach and a willingness to learn, we will support you with training and development.
What You’ll Do
- Create safe, warm and nurturing home environments.
- Support routines, meals, education, appointments and family time.
- Plan activities, hobbies, days out and celebrations.
- Help children develop confidence and independence.
- Support children during emotional distress and challenging moments.
- Follow care plans, safeguard children and complete clear records.
- Work as part of a consistent, supportive team.
Why Homes for Support?
- Competitive pay starting at ÂŁ25,528.50 to ÂŁ31,318.50, plus overtime and extra-shift opportunities.
- Paid annual leave that increases with service.
- Company sick pay and compassionate leave.
- 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme from day one for you and eligible adults in your household.
- Health Cash Plan after six months for eligible employees.
- Full induction, shadow shifts and specialist training.
- Regular supervision and clear career progression.
- Loyalty rewards, milestone celebrations and extra annual leave after five years.
You’ll be a great fit if you are:
Warm. Patient. Reliable. Calm under pressure. A team player. Open to learning. Passionate about helping children feel safe and valued.
This is rewarding work, but it can be challenging. Children may communicate distress through behaviour, so you will need to stay calm, maintain safe boundaries and avoid taking difficult moments personally.
Apply today and build a career that changes lives.
