M2 SPED Awareness is seeking a Marketing Trustee to lead and oversee the charity’s Marketing Department. You will supervise a growing team of 5-8 marketing volunteers, provide strategic direction for the charity’s social media and wider communications, contribute to board-level decision making and help shape the long-term growth of the organisation aligning with the charity’s core values. As Marketing Trustee, you will work closely with the Co-founder and fellow Trustees to ensure the charity communicates its mission effectively, develop sustainable marketing systems in lieu with growing resources across June 2026 – June 2029 period, and support the recruitment, development and supervision of volunteers and interns withing the Marketing Department. The successful candidate will supervise the Deputy Head of Marketing, Marketing Interns, LinkedIn Marketing Assistants and, from 2027 onwards, the Website Developer. The role also provides occasional oversight of the Fundraising & Events Team during periods of Annual Leave. In June 2027- June 2028 Period of the Charity's 10-year vision plan, we will be rolling out a pilot of our new larger England and Wales-wide scalable and repeatable unit of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Programme for Secondary Education Teachers & Support Staff. We would like our Marketing Trustee to co-ordinate the uptake by teachers in this phase by the September 2026- June 2027 Phase continuing to demonstrate credibility of the Charity via the impact of our existing Neurodiversity Youth Advocate Programmes, upcoming self-published introductory guidebook to Neurodiversity and clear outline of our charity's purpose & values. We hope to build a larger mailing database during this period for the Marketing Trustee to use strategic vision to build a robust seasonal marketing communications system commencing November 2027 to extend the impact of our charity's services in the education sector. Average commitment after induction is approximately 5 hours per month, with increased activity of 10-15 hours during the recruitment periods (November and December) and Trustee Meeting Months (June and December). What you’ll bringEssential skills and experience:· At least 3 years’ experience in the digital media marketing sector.· Experience leading, supervising or managing people.· Evidence of aligning with the charity’s 3 core values of: (a) Human-centred and empathic leadership, (b) Continuous Learning & Development, and (c) Measurable Impact and Accountability· Excellent written communication skills.· Good organisational and planning skills.· Ability to motivate and support volunteers.· Comfortable chairing meetings and giving constructive feedback.· Passion for improving outcomes for neurodivergent people.
