The Vale Youth Service provides informal and non-formal opportunities to young people aged 11-25 across the Vale of Glamorgan to support them in achieving their full potential. We provide safe environments for young people to enjoy themselves and meet others; feel valued; access information and support; and learn new skills.
As part of the STRIVE targeted team, you will be supporting young people aged 11-18 who are at risk of becoming not in education, employment or training (NEET) or homeless.

About The Role
Pay Details: JNC Pt 12 (£30,745)
Hours of Work / Working Pattern: 37 hours per week, including working up to 3 evenings per week, with occasional weekend and overnight residentials.
Main Place of Work: Office base at Civic Offices with travel to locations across the Vale of Glamorgan.
Temporary Reason: Grant funded

Description: You will be responsible for the delivery of a varied curriculum that works towards a youth offer for young people in and out of school. This includes support in evenings, weekends and community-based provision. Youth will be supporting those who are identified as being most at risk of becoming homeless or NEET. You will undertake work on a 1:1 or group basis delivering a variety of youth work interventions including accredited opportunities.
About You
You will need:
- Experience of working with young people in a variety of settings
- To have a recognised qualification in Youth and Community work (Minimum Level 3) or higher
- To be registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) as a Youth Support Worker or Youth Worker
- Knowledge of issues affecting young people
- Experience of Curriculum planning and evaluation
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures
- To be able to plan, deliver, supervise and evaluate a balanced programme of activities designed to meet the social, leisure and educational needs of young people
