The Whitechapel Centre is a Liverpool based charity which works in partnership with Liverpool City Council and other local agencies to provide support to people who are homeless, at risk of homelessness and/or have a street lifestyle. We offer immediate help to assist individuals to address their accommodation support needs alongside help with building confidence, developing independent living skills and supporting people to address substance use or other health and wellbeing issues.
We are now looking for an exceptional Outreach Worker to join our team.
Working within the Liverpool area, as part of our services for rough sleepers and people with a street lifestyle, you will provide a rapid, practical response to reports of rough sleeping – reaching out to people with multiple and complex needs, providing crisis intervention, initial assessment, support and advice.
With experience of working in a homelessness, housing or support setting, a good working knowledge of local statutory systems / processes, local support and treatment agencies and how to navigate them, you will demonstrate excellent communication skills and the confidence to work well with partner agencies, using your own initiative to make informed and effective decisions.
In return we offer a supportive working environment, a good pension scheme and staff benefits.
More details about all our vacancies are available on our website.
Please note this is a fixed term role (in the first instance) which will provide 12 months' maternity cover within the team.
