What's involved with this role: Job Title: Tenancy Management Officer Ref number: Hillingdon RQ1627171 Standard DBS required for this roleWhat’s Involved with this Role: The Tenancy Management Team provides the ‘end-to-end’ tenancy management service from the point of a prospective tenant viewing a property and entering into a tenancy, through to all key tenancy events and statutory rights throughout its lifetime. Tenancy management delivers its core functions through a collaborative network of multi-agency partnerships, ensuring positive outcomes and sustainable tenancies.
This role requires someone with strong knowledge of tenancy law, risk assessment, and housing management—an individual who can work creatively and collaboratively to deliver positive outcomes, support residents in maintaining their tenancies, and respond effectively to complex and sensitive issues. Excellent communication, organisational skills, and a customer-focused approach are essential.
Qualifications:
- Full Driving Licence
- Relevant qualification in housing or related field (e.g. NVQ, Diploma, Degree) or equivalent experience
- Good standard of education, including GCSEs Grade A–C (or equivalent) in English and Maths
Skills & Experience Required:
- Proven experience delivering successful tenancy management services within a social housing setting
- Ability to identify and manage risk and vulnerability in the context of tenancy sustainment
- Knowledge of Housing and Landlord & Tenant legislation relevant to social housing
- Experience in processing statutory and contractual tenancy and leaseholder rights
- Experience working collaboratively with external agencies to resolve tenancy issues
- Proven ability to engage with harder-to-reach residents using creative, person-centred approaches
- Understanding of tenancy sustainment, homelessness prevention, and safeguarding principles
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver a risk-based approach to tenancy management through ongoing assessment and tailored, person-centred support
- Undertake early interventions to help at-risk tenants sustain their tenancies and prevent homelessness
- Inform and engage tenants and leaseholders about participation opportunities and encourage involvement
- Deliver efficient tenancy and leasehold management in response to contractual and statutory rights
- Attend case conferences, reviews, and multi-agency meetings to support successful tenancy outcomes
