Centrepoint, the UK’s leading youth homelessness charity, is looking for Compliance Manager – Fundraising to join our Compliance Team based in London, Sunderland, Bradford or Manchester.

We help vulnerable young people by giving them the practical and emotional support they need to find a job and live independently. Centrepoint provides homeless young people with accommodation, health support and life skills in order to get them back into education, training and employment. We want to end youth homelessness by 2037.
Together with our partners, we support over 16,000 young people each year.
The Compliance Team’s role is to provide assurance that, based on evidence, internal controls are in place and are operating effectively. We are responsible for ensuring Centrepoint can operate and develop safely within regulatory frameworks. The team, which consists of managers, officers and a head of department, oversees several aspects of compliance across Centrepoint, including fundraising, employability & skills, data protection, complaints, internal policies and procedures and safeguarding.
Centrepoint operates a hybrid working model. The current requirement is a minimum of two days in the office per week, with the remaining days worked remotely. From 1 July 2025, this will increase to a minimum of 50% of your working week. For most full-time colleagues, this means attending the office for five days over a two-week period (e.g., two days one week and three days the next). For colleagues on different contracts (including part-time or compressed contracts) this will be adjusted accordingly.
About you
- Fundraising Compliance specialist, with knowledge and understanding of essential areas of compliance related to Fundraising.

What you’ll be doing
- Promoting and fostering a strong culture of compliance by providing advice and guidance to Fundraising staff on compliance (particularly adherence to the Fundraising Code of Practice).
- Overseeing Due Diligence processes and maintaining risk registers.
- Preparing reports/raising concerns and reporting matters to the Charity Commission.
- Ensuing all fundraising policies, procedures, information, tools and resources are in line with current legislation.
- Developing fundraising training modules for staff and leading on Fundraising inductions for new and current staff.
- Raising awareness regarding fundraising compliance issues amongst Centrepoint’s fundraising staff and ensuring all policies and procedures are up to date on SharePoint and available to staff.
- Strengthening the compliance culture within Centrepoint.
- Acting as a key point of contact in the company for queries about Centrepoint’s internal policies.
- Ensuing a Quality Assurance system is designed, implemented and continuously improved to check and monitor compliance across all frameworks.
- Ensuing Compliance with all GDPR regulations, including an overview of the consent process for Fundraising. Identify data protection and information management issues/risks and make recommendations for change.
- Ensuring reporting and management of complaints meets organisational standards and that all complaints reports meet Board and senior manager’s approval.
- Ensuring incidents of fraud, data security breaches, safeguarding concerns and complaints related Fundraising are reported through appropriate channels.
- Monitoring activity and updates from supervisory and regulatory authorities, i.e. Fundraising Regulator, ICO and Charity Commission.
