About the role
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced psychotherapist, deeply committed to helping vulnerable and marginalised individuals. The candidate should possess:
- Qualification in psychotherapy, with a specialisation in
trauma-informed care.
- Full accreditation with UKCP, or BACP, or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience in engaging with individuals facing
homelessness, substance misuse, anxiety, depression, and other mental health
challenges.
- A dynamic, positive attitude with a profound empathy for those
in crisis.
Role overview
As an Outreach Psychotherapist, you will be required to:
- Deliver specialised outreach psychotherapy to individuals in Tower Hamlets, focusing particularly on those who are or have been rough sleepers.
- Work collaboratively with Street Outreach Response Teams and other specialist agencies.
- Offer both formal psychotherapy sessions and informal support, adapting to clients' needs in terms of scheduling and locations.
- Conduct street shifts alongside the commissioned Outreach Service, introducing and promoting our service to potential clients.
- Support individuals transitioning into emergency, temporary, or long-term accommodation
It is essential that you have:
- UK-recognised qualification in Psychotherapy or Counselling Psychology.
- Accreditation with BACP/UKCP.
- Ability to work flexibly in varied settings.
- Proficient in assessing client needs and offering tailored services.
- Strong team leadership and collaboration skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proven experience in engaging with vulnerable adults.
