About Bentley House & Montfort House.
Bentley House is part of the Passage, which is a Vincentian organisation whose mission is to encourage, inspire and challenge homeless people to transform their lives. Bentley House contains 20 flats, including both studio and one-bedroom flats. All flats are newly refurbished to a high standard. Tenants are encouraged and supported to create a home, and will be able to access a small personalised budget to do this.
Our aim is to offer long-term tenancies to client’s who have been in supported housing for a long time or had long periods of engagement with homelessness and support services. This service is for people who are recognised as being able to live independently but would be at higher risk of tenancy hijack and/or abandonment in a general needs tenancy. Due to this and their length of time within homelessness services, and other vulnerabilities may feel safer knowing there is always support available. We want to create a service for people where they have an identity outside of homelessness and strive to create a home which isn’t confined to the similar governance of hostels/supported housing, in which they will be used to.
Montfort House offers accommodation to homeless men, women and couples. Priority is given to the most vulnerable rough sleepers as well as couples & other individuals with multiple needs. Our aim is to offer hard to reach individuals an opportunity to move away from the streets by providing a safe & relaxed environment. We incorporate an adult-to-adult approach to allow people the chance to settle in and gain confidence. Once settled our support approach is tailored, and we aim to work with everyone at a level which best meets their needs. We’re transparent in our communication and if we need to address a concern we take a challenge and truth approach.
