Please note, the successful candidate will be expected to carry out two days in-person working per week on average which will include attendance at your office location.

Due to internal promotion, an exciting opportunity has arisen at the National Housing Federation (NHF) for a Policy Officer to work on significant areas of housing policy including housing management and homelessness. The NHF is the voice of housing associations in England. We are the trade body to almost 600 housing associations, who have grown from philanthropic roots to provide 2.6 million homes to around six million people. Key elements of the role:
- Playing a key role in the work of the policy team – creating briefings, working closely with our members and helping to develop policy ideas and solutions.
- Engaging with members and stakeholders to identify and respond to opportunities and challenges facing the housing sector, now and in the future.
- Keeping up to date with the current policy environment, latest thinking and issues that impact housing.
- Providing policy input, support and advice to other parts of the NHF through events and project groups.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
- An understanding of the processes of policy development, and experience of working in a policy team.
- Experience of building and developing relationships with stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
