The Tenancy Sustainment Service provides early, practical support to customers who may be at risk of tenancy breakdown, homelessness or crisis. We support people facing a range of challenges, including financial hardship, food and fuel poverty, domestic abuse, hoarding, mental health difficulties and access to essential household items. Through early intervention and partnership working, we help customers remain safe, secure and independent in their homes

About Our Team

We are a supportive, customer-focused team committed to preventing homelessness and helping customers sustain their tenancies. We work closely with colleagues and external partners to identify risks early, provide practical assistance and connect customers with the right support. It is a busy and varied service where every team member contributes to improving customer outcomes and making a genuine difference to people’s lives

The Opportunity

We are looking for a compassionate and organised Tenancy Sustainment Assistant to provide practical support to customers and help prevent difficulties from escalating into crisis. You will help triage referrals, complete pre-tenancy checks, support grant and hardship applications, coordinate access to essential household items and maintain accurate customer records. You will also attend drop-in sessions, promote self-help resources and work with colleagues and partner agencies to ensure customers receive the right support at the right time.

This is a varied and rewarding role where you will work directly with customers, helping them overcome practical barriers and build greater independence and resilience. Your contribution will also create additional capacity for Tenancy Sustainment Officers to focus on customers with more complex needs, safeguarding concerns and higher levels of risk
