Are you passionate about helping people achieve their employment goals? Do you believe that everyone can work with the right support, the right environment and the right opportunity? If so, we’d love to hear from you.

We are looking for a Supported Employment Coordinator to join our forward‑thinking Care & Support team. You will play a vital role in supporting working age adults with disabilities, health conditions, or complex barriers to find, secure, and sustain meaningful paid employment.

This is a rewarding role where you will make a real difference, helping people build confidence, develop skills, and thrive in the workplace.

The role is a fixed term contract for 2 years, with a possible extension, to support the projects that we support.

About the role

As a Supported Employment Coordinator, you will:

  • Work one‑to‑one with individuals to understand their strengths, skills and aspirations through the vocational profiling process.
  • Support people to prepare for, gain and maintain paid employment using the nationally recognised 5‑stage Supported Employment Model and the Supported Employment Quality Framework (SEQF).
  • Provide practical employment support including CV development, interview preparation, job‑coaching, and in‑work support.
  • Work creatively with employers to understand their business needs, complete job analysis, promote inclusive recruitment and explore reasonable adjustments.
  • Build strong partnerships with HAS, CYPS, education providers, DWP, voluntary organisations, and local employers.
  • Promote employment as a key outcome for adults and young people preparing for adulthood.
  • Maintain high‑quality records and contribute to performance reporting and service evaluation.

You will work as part of a countywide team based in a locality area, using mobile and community‑based working. You will visit people in their homes, community venues, and workplaces, and will manage your own diary and caseload. However, there will be a requirement to primarily cover the Selby and York Area.

About you

We are looking for someone who:

  • Believes strongly that everyone can work with the right support.
  • Is confident using motivational interviewing and behaviour‑change techniques.
  • Can work collaboratively with individuals, families, professionals and employers.
  • Is organised, adaptable and comfortable managing a varied caseload.
  • Communicates positively, professionally and with empathy.
  • Can promote high aspirations and inspire people to achieve their potential.
  • Has knowledge or interest in employment support, skills development or health and social care.

Experience in supported employment, job‑coaching, careers guidance, education or adult social care would be an advantage, but full training will be provided.

What we offer

  • The chance to make a real and lasting difference in people’s lives
  • A supportive and collaborative team
  • Opportunities for training, development and progression
  • Flexible, mobile working
  • The opportunity to contribute to NYC’s strategic priorities and the HAS 2030 vision
