Maintenance Operative

About the Role

GIPSIL is looking for a skilled and motivated Maintenance Operative to join our team. This is a hands-on role where you will support the upkeep, repair, and refurbishment of our property portfolio, helping us provide safe, high-quality homes for our tenants.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver day-to-day reactive and cyclical maintenance across GIPSIL properties
• Refurbish empty homes to meet Design and Quality standards as directed by the Project Co‑ordinator
• Support the team in bringing leased properties up to Decent Homes standards
• Carry out a wide range of general property maintenance tasks, including:
  • Basic joinery
  • Plastering
  • Decorating
  • Plumbing
  • Wall tiling
  • Bricklaying
• Follow work schedules and deadlines, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently
• Contribute to building and refurbishment projects in line with agreed specifications
• Collect materials and equipment as required and oversee deliveries to site
• Represent GIPSIL in a professional, courteous manner at all times

About You

We are looking for someone who:

• Has proven experience in general maintenance or property refurbishment
• Possesses a multi-skilled trade background
• Can work independently and as part of a team
• Is organised and able to work to deadlines and schedules
• Has a strong commitment to quality and customer service
• Holds a full UK driving licence
