Our Temporary Accommodation Team supports individuals and families who are experiencing homelessness or are at risk of losing their homes. We work to ensure that residents placed in temporary accommodation receive appropriate support, feel safe, and are treated with dignity and respect.
Working collaboratively with housing colleagues, support services, landlords, and external agencies, the team aims to help residents maintain their accommodation, address their individual needs, and move towards secure and sustainable long-term housing.
This is a varied and rewarding role for someone who is passionate about helping vulnerable people, solving problems, and making a positive difference in the community.
We are looking for a proactive, compassionate, and organised individual who can provide practical support to residents living in temporary accommodation.
The successful candidate will have:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with residents from a range of backgrounds. A compassionate, non-judgemental approach when working with people experiencing homelessness or other challenging circumstances. The ability to manage a varied caseload, prioritise competing demands, and work effectively under pressure. Good problem-solving skills and the confidence to deal with challenging situations professionally. The ability to work collaboratively with internal teams, landlords, and external support agencies.
Good administrative and IT skills, including maintaining accurate records and preparing reports. An understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality, equality, diversity, and inclusion. A flexible and proactive approach, with a commitment to improving outcomes for residents.
Experience in housing, homelessness, tenancy support, or working with vulnerable individuals would be desirable.

Accommodation management: Carry out regular welfare checks and accommodation visits to ensure properties are safe, suitable, and being maintained appropriately.
Tenancy sustainment: Support residents to maintain their accommodation, address issues that may put their placement at risk, and understand their housing-related obligations.
Homelessness prevention: Work with residents to identify barriers to moving on from temporary accommodation and support them to explore longer-term housing options.
Multi-agency working: Liaise with housing teams, social services, health professionals, support providers, landlords, and other relevant agencies to coordinate assistance.
Safeguarding: Identify and report safeguarding concerns, risks, or incidents in line with organisational policies and procedures.
Case management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records, document interventions, monitor progress, and follow up on agreed actions.
Managing concerns and incidents: Respond appropriately to complaints, anti-social behaviour, property issues, and other concerns, escalating matters when necessary.
Signposting and referrals: Help residents access relevant services, including benefits advice, mental health support, substance misuse services, and employment or training opportunities.
Service improvement: Contribute to the effective delivery of the temporary accommodation service by identifying recurring issues and suggesting improvements.
