About the role

Applicants for this position must be available for interview 27 November 2026.

We are looking for someone with experience of providing practical support to people facing difficult circumstances, helping them move into accommodation, establish a home and develop the skills needed to live independently. This should include hands-on practical experience such as preparing a home, assembling furniture, basic DIY, sourcing essential household items and helping people set up utilities and manage household bills. Experience of supporting people to develop budgeting, cleaning and tenancy management skills is also important, alongside the ability to build confidence and encourage independence.

Candidates should also demonstrate an understanding of safeguarding, risk management and professional boundaries, with the ability to work independently, manage their workload and maintain accurate records. Experience in homelessness, supported housing or working with landlords would be beneficial, as would knowledge of tenancy responsibilities, benefits and local services. Above all, we are looking for someone who is practical, resourceful, patient and non-judgemental, with a genuine commitment to helping people settle into their homes and sustain their independence.

You would be based in a friendly, busy team based in Westcliff-on-sea conducting daily visits to various properties within the Southend-On-Sea area.
