Porchlight is looking for a creative, strategic and values-led Digital Communications and Engagement Manager to help grow our visibility, strengthen our digital presence and connect more people with our work across Kent and Medway.
We are Kent’s largest homelessness and mental health charity, working towards a safe home, better life and fairer future for everyone. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping how we reach people who need support, inspire current and future supporters, and influence change around homelessness, inequality and mental health.
About the role
Working closely with the Head of Communications and colleagues across Porchlight, you will lead the development and delivery of digital strategies and campaigns that raise awareness, increase engagement and support our wider organisational priorities.
You will oversee our digital channels, use insight and analysis to improve audience journeys, and create compelling content that helps people understand who we are, what we do and why our work matters. You will also help champion digital transformation across the organisation, supporting staff and volunteers to use digital tools confidently and effectively.
What you’ll be doing
- Developing and implementing digital strategies that help people experiencing homelessness, poverty, inequality or mental ill health find support.
- Planning and delivering digital campaigns that engage supporters and grow Porchlight’s profile.
- Managing and developing our website, social media, email marketing and digital advertising activity.
- Creating high-quality digital content and assets for web, social, email, advertising and print.
- Using audience insight, analytics and learning to improve engagement and strengthen user journeys.
- Working with colleagues, external specialists, agencies, designers and filmmakers to deliver impactful content.
- Helping establish Porchlight as an expert voice and supporting our influencing work with decision makers.
About you
You will be an excellent communicator with a strong track record of planning and delivering digital campaigns, managing web and social media platforms, and creating engaging content for different audiences. You will be confident using insight and analytics to shape decisions, and comfortable working collaboratively with colleagues and external partners.
You do not need to have followed a traditional route into this kind of role. We are interested in your transferable skills, your creativity, your ability to build relationships and your commitment to Porchlight’s values of trust, compassion, collaboration and courage.
We’re looking for someone who can bring
- Experience of leading successful digital campaigns and improving online engagement.
- Strong writing, editing and storytelling skills, with the ability to tailor content for different audiences.
- Experience using content management systems, analytics tools and digital advertising platforms.
- The ability to work well under pressure, manage changing priorities and meet deadlines.
- A collaborative approach and the confidence to represent Porchlight with professionalism and impact.
Why join Porchlight?
By joining Porchlight, you will be part of an organisation with a clear purpose: to be there for people when it matters most, offering safety, stability and respect while working for lasting change. You will have the chance to use your digital expertise to make a meaningful difference to people’s lives and help shape how one of Kent’s leading charities communicates with the world.
How to apply
If you are excited by the opportunity to use digital communications to create positive social impact, we would love to hear from you. Please complete the application form, using your answers to show how your skills, experience and values match the role.
