We’re looking for a motivated person to join our Community Housing Team. At Connect, we aim to do more than provide a place to live; we aim to make people feel at home, transform lives, and build communities.

Our Community Housing Officers play a critical role in delivering this vision. Our Community Housing Officers build trust and positive relationships with residents, foster strong neighbourhood connections, and work collaboratively with partners to support thriving, sustainable communities.

We're particularly interested in hearing from people who have experience in housing or from those who can demonstrate transferable skills gained in customer-focused, community-based or people-centred roles. If you're confident communicating with a wide range of people, enjoy problem-solving, and are motivated to deliver good customer service, we'd love to hear from you.

About you

You may already be working as a Housing Officer and looking for your next opportunity, or have relevant transferable experience. If you are passionate about delivering excellent housing services and making a real difference to people’s lives, we would love to hear from you.

We are looking for candidates who have:

  • A proactive, customer-focused attitude
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and conflict resolution skills
  • The ability to manage a varied workload and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in using IT systems and the ability to learn new systems
  • A driving licence and vehicle, or means to travel across sites in a timely way

About the role

No two days are the same in this role, and you’ll enjoy a varied and rewarding workload. Typical activities might include:

  • Visiting a resident to discuss a change to their tenancy, such as a new partner moving in.
  • Meeting with the Estates Team to address issues with communal areas affecting residents.
  • Supporting families and resolving neighbourhood concerns raised by residents.

We’re also continually evolving the role, with opportunities to be involved in rewarding moments such as welcoming new residents and handing over keys to their new homes.

We understand that no candidate will meet every single requirement, so if you feel you have relevant experience and the right approach, we encourage you to apply.

Please see the attached combined Job Description and Person Specification for more details.

A basic DBS check will be carried out on the successful candidate, and we will require two professional references.

If you would like an informal discussion about the role, please contact us. We’re always happy to help.

This is a hybrid working role. A typical week might include two days in the office, with flexibility to plan your home working, visits, and appointments. You will manage your own diary and have responsibility for your own patch.

Please note: We may close this advert early if we receive a high number of good applications. We encourage early applications as we review these on a rolling basis.
