Do you want to make a real difference to people experiencing rough sleeping and homelessness?
Whether it’s due to homelessness or poor mental health, the number of people experiencing a crisis is on the rise. Connection Support believes in a future where people are free from crisis. But for the times when crises do happen, we’ll be there to help every step of the way.
Does this sound like something you want to be a part of?
We are currently recruiting two Rough Sleeper Case Workers to join our dedicated Rough Sleeper Initiative team. One role will primarily support clients in High Wycombe and the surrounding areas, and the other will support clients in Aylesbury and the surrounding areas.
About the service
Our Rough Sleeper Initiative (RSI) service supports people who are sleeping rough, have recently moved into accommodation, or are at risk of returning to the streets. Through person-centred support, we help people sustain their accommodation, improve their wellbeing, and build the confidence and resilience needed to achieve long-term stability and independence.
The impact you will have
As a Rough Sleeper Case Worker, you will support people who have experienced rough sleeping to settle into accommodation, build confidence, and develop the skills needed to maintain their independence. Working in a person-centred way, you will help clients overcome barriers, access support services, and make positive changes that reduce the risk of homelessness recurring.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting clients to sustain their accommodation and prevent a return to rough sleeping.
- Working with clients to identify goals, develop support plans, and achieve positive outcomes.
- Helping people access housing, welfare benefits, healthcare, education, training, and employment opportunities.
- Supporting clients to improve their financial stability and develop practical life skills.
- Working collaboratively with local authorities, housing providers, landlords, and partner agencies to provide coordinated support.
- Providing occasional support to the Rough Sleeper Outreach Team, including rough sleeper verifications during periods of annual leave and absence.
This is a rewarding opportunity to help people build brighter futures. Through practical support, encouragement, and advocacy, you will empower clients to move beyond homelessness and achieve greater stability, wellbeing, and independence.
Contract: Fixed term until 30th June 2027

As part of our recruitment process, we invite selected candidates to a short introductory call. We believe this helps candidates better understand the role, ask any questions and feel more prepared if invited to interview.
