We are seeking an Archive & Administration Officer to join our Making Connections service and support individuals accessing historical care, adoption, and family history records.
In this varied role, you will undertake archive research, maintain records and databases, process enquiries, and provide high-quality administrative support to the team. You will work with a range of historical materials, ensuring information is accurately recorded, securely managed, and accessible when needed. You will also help prepare records for digitisation, produce reports and correspondence, and support the smooth day-to-day running of the service.
The ideal candidate will have strong administrative and organisational skills, experience handling sensitive and confidential information, and confidence using Microsoft Office and database systems. You will be able to prioritise competing demands, work accurately under pressure, and communicate effectively with colleagues and service users.
Experience in archives, records management, libraries, information services, genealogy, or a similar environment would be an advantage, but most importantly you will have a commitment to delivering an excellent service and supporting people with empathy and professionalism.
This is a rewarding opportunity to use your research and administration skills in a role that helps people connect with their past and better understand their personal histories.
