Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday 09:00-17:00 with some flexibility required
Contract: Fixed term until March 2025 - internal secondments can also be considered.
Location: Covering Cardiff, home based field work with some requirements to visit other hubs across South Wales

Project Description
Steps to Progress is an exciting new project which will offer a structured pre-employability and skill building programme to supports individuals’ wellbeing and resilience, working alongside staff and external professionals to provide varied workshops and activities. The project will support The Wallich's aim to create opportunities for people with experience of homelessness by breaking down structural barriers and increasing individuals confidence to seek opportunities for progression towards employment, training and education.
This project is funded by the UK government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
Purpose of Role
The Steps to Progress Mentor will be responsible for delivery of the pre-employability and skill building programme across Cardiff; supporting a caseload of individuals through a mixture of online and face-to-face methods. An element of person-centred, one to one mentoring will also be undertaken by the Steps to Progress Mentor to support them to build their confidence, skills and achieve their individual goals. The Steps to Progress Mentor will manage referrals to the project and deliver introductory sessions to staff and service users to ensure adequate levels of referrals.
We are looking for a driven individual who can connect with a wide audience and build relationship with people experiencing challenges and presenting with complex needs. Prior experience of delivering workshops and providing 1:1 support is beneficial, as well as an understanding of our models of support, including trauma informed care. Most importantly you share the Wallich's values and are passionate about having a positive impact on individuals lives.
This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS disclosure.
Please note: Driving Licence and use of own vehicle is essential
