About the Service - Housing & Homelessness Services
A safe home is the solid base from which you build your life. We support people who are experiencing homelessness, or at risk of becoming homeless, as well as providing specialist accommodation and outreach services for rough sleepers, veterans, survivors of domestic abuse, women and young people.
Accommodation to us doesn’t just mean a roof over your head and shelter from the elements. It needs to be a welcoming and flourishing environment, offering opportunities for all those we support to feel comfortable and develop. About the Job
Open House Plus, located in Doncaster, is a 26 room supported accommodation for people experiencing homelessness. Our project provides supported accommodation for individuals with a number of complex needs. As a Support Worker at Open House Plus, you will have the opportunity to join our passionate team who are dedicated to empowering those who we support.
We are committed to delivering high quality support, and we welcome your expertise and dedication in order to help us to continue making a positive impact in the lives of those we support. You will be given training on all aspects of the role as well as taking part in case management reviews with the whole team.
Our project operates on a shift schedule; therefore, flexibility is essential.
Hours of work are typically 22:00 -08:00
Role Summary
The Night Support Worker will be an integral part of the team, overseeing the running and safety of the project through the evening.
The successful candidate will provide an overnight supportive service ensuring that residents stay safe and protected. They will be expected to respond to any out of hours telephone calls, emergencies, maintain the security of the building, promote personal safety, manage access to the property, and ensure health and safety procedures are always adhered to.
Key Activities
The Night Support Worker will be an integral part of our team, overseeing the running and safety of the project throughout the evening.
The successful candidate will provide an overnight supportive service ensuring that our residents stay safe and protected. They will be expected to:
- Respond to any out of hours telephone calls
- Deal with any emergencies
- Maintain the security of the building
- Promote personal safety
- Manage access to the property
- Ensure health and safety procedures are always adhered to
- Support the maintenance of buildings, resources, equipment and facilities, including reporting any faults or damage.
- Ensure the building is clean & tidy - cleaning duties include communal areas and residents’ rooms that become vacant preparing them to be relet
- Report any ASB to relevant parties
- Ensure that all written reports, documentation and internal systems are updated accordingly and in a timely manner, in line with Changing Lives' policies and procedures, whilst always maintaining a high level of confidentiality and adhering to GDPR
- Ensuring that risks associated with the delivery of services are effectively assessed and managed, specifically in relations to the protection and safeguarding of residents, staff, and the general public
- Ensure that the set requirements for the protection and safeguarding of vulnerable adults and all statutory guidelines are followed
