Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential care and support to individuals in need, ensuring their comfort and well-being. This role involves assisting with daily activities, promoting independence, and fostering a positive environment for those we serve. The Support Worker will work closely with clients, their families, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care tailored to individual needs.
Responsibilities
- Support clients with daily living activities such as meal preparation, medication management, household tasks & benefits.
- Assist adults with behavioral management strategies to promote positive interactions.
- Assist individuals with referrals to external agencies such as drugs, alcohol & mental health.
- Offer companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients.
- Maintain accurate records of client progress and any changes in behavior or health status.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement care plans effectively.
- Drive clients to appointments or community activities as required.
- Ensure a safe environment by adhering to health and safety regulations and performing first aid when necessary.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in childcare, home care, or patient care is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of first aid procedures and ability to respond effectively in emergencies.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients of all ages.
- Experience in hospice care or senior care is an advantage.
- Ability to manage challenging behaviours with patience and understanding.
- A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting clients as needed.
- Certification or training in relevant areas such as nursing or behavioural management is beneficial but not mandatory.
- A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others.
