ABOUT THE ROLE
In this role, you will empower and motivate our residents and participants to achieve their personal goals and gain greater independence, supporting their reintegration into the community. You will provide tailored, person-centred support using a recovery model, ensuring our services are flexible and responsive to individual needs while meeting the expectations of our commissioners and stakeholders.
Penrose Jigsaw Service: Is a forensic mental health service, delivered in partnership with South London and Maudsley NHS Trust (SLaM). We offer support to male and female residents with a formal diagnosis of severe and enduring mental disorders, a history of offending, and other complex needs. The service primarily supports high-risk individuals referred by the Lewisham Community Mental Health Team. We provide intensive accommodation-based support (six flats) and floating support (dispersed flats) designed to address the complex and challenging needs of our residents and participants. Our focus is on successful community reintegration and a sustained quality of life, guided by a recovery model that enables clients to live, work, learn, and participate fully in their communities through interactive and preventative approaches.
Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm, 1:00pm - 9:00pm, 8:30am - 9:00pm
Saturday and Sunday: 10:00am - 6:00pm

What are we looking for?
- Experience of working with people of complex backgrounds and/or a good understanding of the sector.
- Ability to use, learn and adapt to IT at an intermediate level, including Microsoft and other software programs.
- Ability to promote the service and provide outreach-based provision, with an ability to liaise and work effectively in partnership with stakeholders.
- Understanding and/or practical knowledge of the social and societal marginalisation that can be attached to people with complex needs.
What would we like, but not essential?
- Experience creating co-produced support plans and providing appropriate interventions for residents/participants and liaising with other professionals.
- Experience in providing housing support and practical assistance within a residential or outreach support role.
- Appropriate professional qualification: NVQ/Diploma Level 2 in Health & Social Care/Psychology/Community Justice or professional equivalent.

OVERVIEW OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide high-quality, person-centred support to residents/participants in line with trauma-informed care and SIG’s Theory of Change.
- Develop and implement personalised support plans, risk assessments, and appropriate interventions to assist individuals in their recovery and reablement journey.
- Conduct welfare checks, safeguarding assessments, and support sessions to ensure the safety and wellbeing of residents.
- Encourage resident participation in various activities and projects, empowering them to take control of their lives and make informed decisions.
- Identify and respond to signs of deteriorating mental or physical health and provide crisis interventions where necessary.
- Maintain accurate case records and ensure all information is documented in a timely manner, in accordance with GDPR and organisational policies.
- Ensure the accommodation provided is safe, clean, and meets SIG’s property standards, reporting and managing repairs as required.
- Collaborate with external agencies and stakeholders to deliver holistic support, fostering positive partnerships for the benefit of the residents.
Other responsibilities than those described above may be required to be undertaken from time to time and will be expected to be performed to as long as it is within the capability and level of the position.
