We are looking for a Housing Mobile Night Worker to provide floating support across our highsupport and mediumsupport 24hour supported housing services, as well as our transitional housing units. You will play a key role in ensuring our properties remain safe, secure, and welcoming throughout the night.
Our services provide 24hour supported housing for young people aged 16–25, offering both high and medium levels of housingrelated support, alongside transitional housing units. We take a traumainformed and psychologically informed approach, supporting residents to build essential life skills, identify personal goals, and work towards their aspirations, enabling them to move on to fully independent living.
In delivering this role, you will be based at Lansworth House in Hove, where you will support the static night worker during the night, alongside undertaking mobile duties across Brighton, Hove, and Worthing.
While working on site, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure service by keeping accurate records of nighttime activity within the building. You will carry out regular building checks, monitor CCTV, and ensure health and safety requirements are met in line with the organisation’s policies and procedures.
You will work proactively to prevent antisocial behaviour from impacting neighbours and other residents and collaborate closely with support staff to promote resident wellbeing. This will include completing onetoone interventions with young people who may be experiencing a mental health crisis and/or require medical assistance.
This role involves lone working, so you will need to be confident in decisionmaking and in following procedures. However, before joining the rota, you will have the opportunity to get to know the team and services, take part in a full induction, complete the required training, and undertake shadow shifts to ensure you feel confident, supported, and well prepared.

Ideally, you will have experience working with young people, those considered vulnerable, or individuals with multiple and complex needs, and be able to demonstrate a genuine passion for working with young people. You will have an understanding of the needs of single homeless clients aged 16–25, along with the ability to engage, motivate, and inspire others, and a strong commitment to making a positive difference to people’s lives.
You will have clear verbal and written communication skills, good IT and keyboard skills, and the ability to work independently and selfmotivate. You will be an effective communicator, able to deliver robust and clear handovers and build strong working relationships with colleagues. In addition, you will have the ability to deescalate volatile situations and manage challenging behaviour in a calm and appropriate manner.
