Job Overview
We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Housing Support Worker to join our Supported Housing team. You’ll play a key role in helping tenants sustain their tenancies, develop independent living skills, and move forward from homelessness.
This is a rewarding, hands-on role where you’ll provide both practical and emotional support while working closely with partner agencies and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with tenants to assess needs and develop personalised support plans (using tools such as the Outcomes Star)
- Support individuals to manage their tenancy, including budgeting, bills, and maintaining their home
- Provide practical and emotional support, encouraging positive behaviour change
- Help tenants access training, employment, and community opportunities
- Support welfare benefit claims and maximise tenants’ income
- Work with colleagues to manage rent payments, arrears, and tenancy issues
- Liaise with external agencies and attend multi-agency meetings
- Monitor property conditions and report repairs as needed
- Organise and promote social activities for tenants
- Maintain accurate records and manage safeguarding and risk appropriately
What We’re Looking For
- Suitable experience as a support worker
- Strong understanding of homelessness and complex support needs
- Experience developing support plans and maintaining accurate records
- Skilled in building relationships and supporting individuals with practical and emotional challenges
- Knowledge of motivational interviewing or similar approaches
- Good IT skills
Qualifications
- NVQ level 3 Support/Care Worker, (or relevant experience)
Other Requirements
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
