We are seeking a Team Leader with the passion, drive, and relevant experience to lead our Rough Sleeper Team. This role blends visible, inspirational leadership with hands-on operational oversight and strong partnership working.
Role Responsibility
As Team Leader, you will lead our Rough Sleeper Team, which operates across West Northamptonshire and supports people experiencing multiple disadvantages. You will manage a team of Rough Sleeper Recovery Workers - providing guidance, supervision, and development - to ensure the delivery of a high-quality, safe, and effective service.
Within this role you will be:
- Leading, supporting, and line-managing a team of Rough Sleeper Recovery Workers.
- Working closely with the Criminal Justice Team Manager to ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Supporting staff to engage individuals who are rough sleeping or at risk of rough sleeping, helping them access treatment and wider support.
- Building strong relationships with partner agencies to deliver effective multi-agency support.
- Taking part in outreach across West Northamptonshire to identify and engage vulnerable individuals.
- Ensuring accurate record-keeping, reporting, and compliance with organisational policies.
- Promoting a positive, resilient, and supportive team culture.
The Ideal Candidate
This role offers the opportunity to join an innovative and compassionate service supporting people who are rough sleeping or at risk of homelessness. We are looking for a Team Leader who understands the complex challenges faced by individuals experiencing rough sleeping, including the impact of trauma, substance use, mental health, and social exclusion.
You will be someone who can build trust quickly with people in highly vulnerable circumstances, while also maintaining strong professional relationships with partner agencies, outreach teams, housing providers, and local authorities. The role requires a balance of empathy, resilience, and confident decision-making in fast-paced environments.
You will be able to demonstrate:
- Excellent people and team leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and support frontline staff
- Experience managing performance, quality assurance processes, and operational systems
- The ability to maintain and develop strong relationships with commissioners and key stakeholders
- High-quality written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and multi-agency communication
- Confidence in managing external partnerships with a wide range of organisations, including housing, health, criminal justice, and community services
