Our charity shop on Red Lane, Coventry plays a vital role in raising essential funds for our work while providing training, volunteering, and employment opportunities for the people we support.
We are looking for a motivated and experienced Charity Shop Supervisor to lead the day-to-day running of our busy retail environment. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with retail experience and strong leadership skills who is passionate about community impact and sustainability.
In this role, you will help create a welcoming shopping experience, support volunteers, and ensure the shop continues to thrive while contributing to our mission of tackling homelessness.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support a team of staff and volunteers, motivating them to achieve shop goals and deliver excellent service
- Oversee daily shop operations, including opening and closing procedures
- Ensure the shop floor is well organised, visually appealing, and fully stocked
- Manage stock donations, pricing, and merchandising to maximise sales
- Deliver excellent customer service, handling enquiries and resolving issues professionally
- Support the Gift Aid process and donation management
- Maintain health and safety standards and a clean, welcoming environment
- Assist with training and mentoring volunteers and new team members
- Carry out administrative tasks, including sales reporting and stock control
- Promote the shop and the charity’s mission within the local community
About You
We are looking for someone who brings:
- Previous retail management or supervisory experience
- Strong leadership and team-building skills
- A passion for charity work and community support
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Comfortable working with vulnerable people
- Strong organisation and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritise tasks and work in a busy environment
- Basic administrative and record-keeping skills
- Multilingual skills are highly desirable to support our diverse community

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £25,000.00 per year
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
