Overview
We are seeking a committed and proactive individual to join our outreach team on a fixed-term basis. This role involves conducting late-night outreach in the Ashford area, supporting efforts to locate and assist individuals who are rough sleeping or at risk of homelessness. Working in pairs, you will be responsible for carrying out area searches as specified by the client and recording data accurately. Due to the nature of the role, a driving licence and own transport will be a requirement as public transport may not be available during the working hours.
Hours of Work: 2 Nights Per Week (Monday & Thursday, 4 hours per shift)
Shifts: 22:00 – 02:00

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct outreach work in pairs across designated areas of Ashford borough.
- Complete area searches as directed by the client, identifying and engaging with rough sleepers.
- Accurately record findings and interactions using email and Excel spreadsheets.
- Maintain professional boundaries and adhere to safeguarding procedures at all times.
- Work flexibly to meet the needs of the service, particularly on Friday nights.

Education and Qualifications
- Good standard of education (Maths and English GCSE or equivalent) or equivalent experience gained in a work-related environment
Essential Requirements:
- Ability to work late-night shifts and in all weather conditions.
- Confident using Excel and email for data entry and communication.
- Strong communication and observational skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Experience in homelessness, outreach, or a related field is desirable but not essential.
- The ability to work with clients who may display challenging behaviour.
- Experience of working with clients experiencing substance misuse and mental health issues.
- Experience of working with partner organisations to create multi agency positive solutions for vulnerable people
- Ability to deal with unforeseen and challenging situations calmly and effectively ensuring risks are reduced
- The postholder is required to hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle.
