Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Cleaner to maintain cleanliness in a homeless shelter. The ideal candidate will ensure that all areas are kept tidy, safe, and welcoming for residents and staff alike. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a focus on high standards of cleanliness and customer satisfaction. The successful applicant will be responsible for performing cleaning duties efficiently while adhering to health and safety guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitise designated areas including offices, bedrooms, washrooms, communal spaces, and other facilities as required
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and polish surfaces to maintain a high standard of cleanliness
- Dispose of rubbish safely and efficiently in line with waste management procedures
- Restock supplies such as toilet paper, soap, and cleaning materials as needed
- Report any maintenance issues or hazards promptly to management
- Follow health and safety regulations at all times during cleaning activities
- Use cleaning equipment and chemicals responsibly, ensuring proper handling and storage
Skills
- Basic knowledge of cleaning techniques and use of cleaning equipment
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with team members and clients
- Customer service orientation with a friendly and professional attitude
- Good organisational skills to manage tasks efficiently within allocated timeframes
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Fluency in English to understand instructions and communicate effectively with colleagues and clients
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: £13.50 per hour
