Ending Homelessness Accelerator Programme
Want to take a leading role in accelerating efforts to end homelessness in London?
In the last 15 months, London Councils has been working with the Greater London Authority (GLA), London Boroughs and partners, to develop a new programme to accelerate efforts to end homelessness in London. The London Ending Homelessness Accelerator programme is now in mobilisation phase and we are looking to recruit to a highly motivated and talented cross-organisation delivery team, that will take forward implementation.
Main Responsibilities
The postholder will play a pivotal role in supporting the implementation and delivery of the London Ending Homelessness Accelerator Programme working collaboratively with the Greater London Authority (GLA), London Housing Directors’ Group, local authorities, and a range of key partners.
They will drive the development of effective sub-regional structures, partnerships, and delivery models to strengthen collaboration, improve data use, and embed sustainable approaches to preventing homelessness. They will play a key role in aligning local and regional priorities, enabling joint commissioning, and building the capacity needed for long-term system change.
Through strategic leadership, coordination, and relationship management, they will help ensure that London’s collective efforts deliver greater impact, efficiency, and value for money in tackling homelessness and rough sleeping across the capital.
This is a politically restricted post, under Section 2 of the Local Government and Housing Act 1989.

The Ideal Candidate
You will have an excellent knowledge and understanding of the strategic housing and homelessness landscape in London. With experience of working at a senior level in or with homelessness, health or social care services, and a firm appreciation of good practice, you will have the ability to build collaboration between organisations and individuals, and to engage stakeholders to deliver the programme.
A strong communicator and highly skilled in stakeholder engagement, you will have the ability to design and establish robust multi-agency governance structures. You will be a strong team player, excited by the opportunity to join a cross-organisational team to deliver a transformational programme.

Package Description
There are 3 Sub-regional Implementation Lead posts across the following boroughs:
- North East London (LB Waltham Forest)
- South East London (RB Greenwich)
- South West London (RB Richmond Upon Thames & RB Wandsworth)
The successful candidates will be employed directly by the boroughs
Salary in the region of: £68,000 per annum (See individual borough roles for salary details)
Working Hours: See individual job description attached below
Contract details: 18 months fixed term contract
Posts are open to applicants interested in a secondment who have in principal agreement from current employers.
