About the RoleWe are seeking dedicated and compassionate Housing Support Workers to work on a temporary basis for a reputable Charity based in Stafford. This is a temporary position where you will manage your own caseload of customers who are experiencing homelessness, substance misuse, and mental health challenges.Your primary goal will be to help individuals achieve stability and independence by providing tailored support and guidance. We have one full-time role available, working Monday-Friday 9am-5pm, and another position where you will be on a rota and shift pattern.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of clients, delivering person-centred support plans.
- Assist customers in securing and sustaining tenancies, ensuring compliance with tenancy agreements.
- Provide practical advice on budgeting, benefits, and accessing community resources.
- Work collaboratively with external agencies, including mental health services, substance misuse teams, and housing providers.
- Conduct regular home visits and welfare checks to monitor progress and address issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate records and produce reports in line with organisational and regulatory requirements.
- Respond to emergencies and safeguarding concerns in accordance with policy.
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience in tenancy sustainment and housing support.
- Strong understanding of issues related to homelessness, substance misuse, and mental health.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a varied caseload effectively.
- Enhanced DBS check (required).
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
