We are looking to recruit committed and enthusiastic individuals to provide high quality support to all customers living in the resettlement hostel. You will assist in helping people move on into independent accommodation suitable to their needs.
Customers may be vulnerable and under a lot of stress and therefore the successful applicants will have good interpersonal skills and will understand the issues facing homeless people and rough sleepers. You will be capable of working on your own initiative, under the guidance of a supervisor.
Experience of working with homeless people would be an advantage but it is essential that you understand the issues surrounding the client groups. You will need to be able to demonstrate that you are sympathetic, have a good understanding of professional boundaries and you are able to cope in situations, which can be stressful as well as rewarding.
The role includes working some weekends and bank holidays.

As this role is public facing, applicants will need to demonstrate, at interview, their competency to converse and provide advice and guidance to members of the public, in spoken English to CEFR level C1: Can express themselves fluently and spontaneously, almost effortlessly. Only a conceptually difficult subject can hinder a natural, smooth flow of language.
