This is a great opportunity for an experienced supported Housing Management Coordinator to join our team here in Exeter. As a Housing and Property expert, you’ll focus on tenancy support for our customers, ensuring the building is safe and well maintained. Providing a housing management service, you’ll support customers to manage and maintain their tenancy and rent accounts with the aim of helping them move on to a secure, long-term accommodation!
What you’ll do
- Support customers with experience of street homeless, many of whom have significant trauma and sometimes issues of addiction.
- Make sure that our customers rooms are spaces they can be proud of, you’ll support your customers by engaging and involving them in managing their licence to stay.
- Help our customers promptly with housing benefit claims, making sure that these are received on their rent account.
- Where there is a need, you’ll also issue and sign warning letters and notices which may lead to attending court.
- Getting rooms ready for the next customers who need our help and for maximum occupancy, you’ll turn around vacant void rooms and bed spaces within set timescales.
- Ensuring we are health and safety compliant and that maintenance standards are met.

You bring
- Experience in managing a housing management caseload and overseeing landlord and housing management duties
- Know-how of re-letting of rooms or units, collecting rents, and taking formal tenancy action when needed.
- Willingly offer guidance and support to your colleagues and being flexible in working together.
- The ability to work on your own initiative, positively influencing people from all different backgrounds.
- A “can do” positive attitude, you’re proactive and well organised, and able to work on your initiative.
- Confident working collaboratively with colleagues in other parts of the business as well as working professionally and communicating clearly with external partners

The practical bits
- 4-week rolling rota work pattern, working 7.30am to 7pm, including weekends and bank holidays.
- Based at our service in Exeter city centre, you’ll spend your time in our 2 locations in the city
- Able to use technology for excel, creating and updating spreadsheets, word documents, making benefit claims and doing tenancy signs ups, as well as communicating with partner agencies.
- You’ll need an Enhanced DBS check done and we pay for that.
