About the Role
You’ll play a key leadership role in Nottingham City Council’s temporary accommodation and tenancy management services. You will:
- Support the Temporary Accommodation Manager in overseeing the effective delivery of temporary housing services and play a key leadership role within the team.
- Supervise and support Non-Secure Tenancy Officers, allocating caseloads and monitoring performance.
- Maximise rental income by ensuring rent recovery procedures are followed and arrears managed effectively.
- Provide tenancy sustainment support, including enforcement and legal action when required.
- Develop and monitor performance indicators, produce reports and drive service improvements.
- Lead on staff training, recruitment support and regular performance reviews.
- Work with Housing Solutions and external partners to help residents move towards secure, permanent housing.
Who We’re Looking For
We welcome applications from experienced housing professionals with supervisory skills. The ideal candidate will bring:
- Previous experience of supervising a front-line team dealing with complex and challenging customers and being able to motivate and develop employees to achieve challenging targets.
- Knowledge and experience of homelessness related issues including a working knowledge of welfare benefits.
- Ability to manage working relationships and communicate complex or sensitive issues to a wide range of people to ensure the efficient and effective running of the service area.
- Knowledge and understanding of the legal and statutory framework relating to housing services and anti-social behaviour.
- Evidence of working successfully in partnership across different sectors, building and maintaining good working relationships.
- Knowledge of H&S requirements for residents living in temporary accommodation.
